BGC – Captain’s Message – 12th February 2024

Good morning,

It was great to see the Clubhouse full on Friday evening for our Race Night. I hope everyone who attended enjoyed the event. A big thanks again to Gerry from RaceNights for hosting and also to Vice Captain Steven Scott and Gary McBain for helping me as ‘bookies’ for the evening!

A reminder that our Curry Karaoke is on this Friday and Sunday Shindig the following Sunday. I believe there are still tickets available for each event so would be great to see both of these fill up also!

Ewen Ferguson enjoyed another good week on Tour with a 9th place finish at the Qatar Masters which was the scene of his first DP World Tour win in 2022. It has been another solid start to the season for Ewen who now travels to play in the Magical Kenya Open this week so keep up the good play Ewen and best of luck from everyone at the Club!

The golf season is not far away now. As per previous course development communications, we will move onto our ‘phase 2’ layout at the beginning of July in order for the remaining new holes to be created on the existing land, so we have decided to bring our Flagship Club competitions forward for this year in order that they can be competed for whilst the ‘phase 1’ layout is still in play. Please see below for all the competitions which will culminate in a Finals Day on Saturday 29th June.
