BGC – Captain’s Message – 26th March 2024
Fellow members,
I hope this message finds you all in good spirits and looking forward to the Easter holidays.
With the new season just around the corner, it’s an exciting time for our golf community. This weekend marks the beginning of daylight saving time, signalling a turning point in the golf season. While the nights are indeed getting longer, the days are yet to warm up significantly, but hopefully that will change soon.
I’m delighted to report that we had 19 junior members out playing last Sunday, and it was wonderful to see the attendance of families, friends, and fellow golfers at the Junior Prizegiving. I want to extend my sincere appreciation to Andrew McNee and Alan Duncan for their dedication in making the junior section a success.
On the catering front, I’m pleased to announce that the Easter Sunday event was fully booked within 24 hours of being offered. This is a testament to the exceptional work done by Madeleine and her team. I’m sure that those who secured bookings will have a fabulous time.
In other news, it’s fantastic to see Ewen Ferguson steadily climbing up the DP World Tour rankings and now sitting in 36th place. Let’s all show our support for him as he competes in the Indian Open this week.
As we gear up for the start of the golf season, let’s make a commitment to have a fantastic year ahead, making new friends and reconnecting with old ones on the course.
Looking forward to seeing you all out on the course soon.
And remember, please fix your pitch marks!
Best regards,
Steven
