BGC – 2024 WHS Update

Hi

As you may or may not know, the current WHS and handicapping system is being updated from tomorrow April 1st.

The main change is the way the course handicaps will be calculated.

Up until now the way our handicaps have been calculated were :Course Handicap = Handicap Index x (Slope Rating/113)

From tomorrow it will be Course handicap = (Handicap Index x Slope Rating/113) + (Course Rating – Par)

With our new course rating above the par of the course from the white tees then everyone will receive addition strokes for their round. The yellow tees course rating is less than par so when playing off the yellow tees, you will lose strokes.

The first handicap medal will be the 9 hole stableford medal on April 10th and the system will be set up for that date.
