BGC – Donnelly Duff Trophy 2026
After another successful Donnelly/ Duff Charity Event on the 18th July, we would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who supported the event.
On the day, we held several events including a putting challenge very kindly sponsored by Mackie pharmacy. Participants who took part could choose to go for an easier putt for £25, a medium putt for £50, or an almost impossible putt for £100. Most went for the fun choice and tried for the £100. Three people, Scott Conlon, Gerald Littlejohn and Ian McMillan, managed to sink the £100 putt and promptly gave the money back into the charity.
Inside the clubhouse our Tombola and our Golfer Card sold well. Thanks to all the donations you, our incredible members, donated. We also would like to thank everyone who donated auction items. Neil Joss, Wilkies Eyecare, Rabbies tours, Peter Ivins Eyecare, Forrester Boxing Fitness, Stuart Armstrong, Bearsden Ski Club, Heather White and Clayton and Jim Cumming. The auction raised a significant amount towards our total.
On the course, the golf tournament took place. The sun was shining and members and guests were kept well “Watered” by the generosity of Gary McBain who sponsored the beer tent which was manned by Gary himself, Martin and Eileen Dorman and Mairi Tarbet.
There was some great golf on the course and some golf on the course but everyone seemed to have a good day. The tournament ran all day and in the end the winners of the prizes were;
Donnelly Duff Trophy: Michael McMillan
Visitor Trophy: David Gillespie
Longest Drive: Scott Conlon
Nearest the pins: Roy McGregor and Kenny Allan.
On the day we raised a magnificent £5000 pounds for an incredible and worthwhile charity.
Thank you to you all and we hope to achieve as much next year.
See you then
